Hope for the Future
Luke 2:1-7
Often we get stuck in the moment and lose sight.
Joseph felt shame, betrayal, and doubt.
Mary felt fear, doubt, and unworthiness.
Wise Men were determined, used discernment, and were wise.
Shepherds felt fear, excitement, and boldness to spread the “Good News.”
Elizabeth focused on what was to come
In each of their lives, the “moment” felt different
You, in the moment, right now, may be feeling…
- Fear
- Doubt
- Disappointment
- Insecure
- Unsteady
- Shame
- Grief
But here is what the birth of Jesus offered… HOPE
The birth of Jesus brought hope of a better tomorrow. A delivered tomorrow.
Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. '
Romans 15:13 – (NLT) - 'I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. '
